1st Stripe - Basics & Kicks Red Belt: Blocks & Strikes: Knife Hand Square Block (Tension move is 5 seconds) Reinforced Inner Forearm Block (Strong, with purpose and intensity) Palm Heel (should look like a punch - Home Position hand is open with palm ready to strike) Ridge Hand Strike (Start chamber with palm up) Kicks: Reverse Hook Kick (Spot - feet move enough to see the target - re-chamber, no falling out of the kick) Round Kick to Side Kick (From front stance - knee position during each kick, no up and down) 2nd Stripe: Red Belt Form
3rd Stripe: Self Defense Combinations
4th Stripe: Board Breaks
Red Belt Board Breaks are a Back Elbow - Jump Side Kick or Reverse Palm Heel, followed by a Round Kick or Upset Punch, and then a Reverse Hook Kick. Board Breaks must be performed with the left and right side using hand gear and sparring boots for round kicks only. Students have three opportunities to break the board.
