Advanced Weapons 8 Weapons Forms – Original Creation Requirement The student is required to create and perform two original weapons forms, each built intentionally from previously learned material. These forms are not repetitions of curriculum patterns, but demonstrations of understanding, creativity, control, and personal expression. One form must be performed with music of the student’s choosing, requiring precise timing, rhythm, and emotional awareness. Both forms must demonstrate ambidexterity, with effective use of both hands, clean transitions, balance, and control throughout. Each form must contain a minimum of 32 distinct movements and be no longer than two minutes in duration. More importantly, the forms must show purpose. Every movement should have intent, structure, and clarity. There should be no filler, no hesitation, and no wasted motion. These weapons forms should reflect the student’s maturity, technical depth, and readiness to represent the art at a Black Belt level. This is not simply about performing techniques, but about owning them, shaping them, and presenting them with confidence, discipline, and presence worthy of the rank being tested. |
